Actor Ray Liotta died. According to his publicist Jennifer Allen, 

Liotta was in the Dominican Republic watching the movie Dangerous Waters when he died in his sleep. 

The actor is perhaps best known for his role as Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese's 1990 film Goodfellas,

 in which he helped shape the idea of ​​the gangster film for years to come

The film is based on Nicholas Pileggi's popular science book Wise Guy.

To prepare for the task, Liotta told WHYY's Fresh Air that she sat in her mother's car, listening to Hill's recording for hours,

with whom she had an interview.
