Gama Pehlwan, the undefeated wrestler of "The Great Gama", awarded by Google Doodle

The latest holiday Google logo honors undefeated Indian wrestler Gama Pehlwan, known as "The Great Gama", on his 144th birthday.

Ghulam Mohammad Baksh - later known as Gama Pehlwan or "Great Gama"

- was born on May 22, 1878 in the village of Jabbowal in the province of Punjab in what was then British India.

Gamma had a troubled childhood, he moved after the death of his father and also when his grandfather died, he eventually lived with his uncle, a wrestler.

Due to his interest in intense training and wrestling from a very young age, Gama Pehlwan entered the energetic competition at the age of 10

and won the highest place among more than 400 competitors. From there, his education and interest in the match only grew. In some accounts,

Gam's training consisted of up to 5,000 squats and 3,000 push-ups a day.
